Lemon Law

I have a 6MT DG Coupe that the engine blew out on. It is currently at the dealer. They agreed to put a new engine into it under the warranty. they had my car since July 27th.. Is it true that if my car is out of service for 30 days of my car being in service prior to 18,000 mile (under the NY lemon law) that Infiniti would have to repurchase my car? Did anyone here ever excercise their rights under the lemon law? Was it easy?

Re: Lemon Law

well i have first hand experience about this..

in california, this holds true.. just like NY..

what i did, was call the BBB Vehical Dept. i got in touch with a rep there and they listened to my case, they asked if i had all the paper work, i did. from there, they gave me a fax # and a ref # to send all my info to. this was picked up by a BBB liason between the car manf. and ME..

after 2 weeks, i got a letter from the car company stateing they can buy back my car or give me a new one.. i opted for the new one and got it 2 months later... all while driving the def one in the meantime at no charge.. all monthly payments rolled over to the new car.

anyhow.. yes, if your car blew and you have been without it for 30 day under 18k, you have a case and i strongly suggest to talk with BBB about this and get them all the info.

you got the law behind you. goodluck
