Audio System Help

I have searched, but am bad at it so any useful info would be great. I have the muddy sound of the Bose system, but I don't want to lose the steering wheel controls. Has anyone just changed the speakers and seen a good result. I don't want to change the head unit, but don't want to waste money on speakers if it is the head unit that is the issue. Any ideas or things people have done are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Between the bose amp, speakers, headunit.....I would change out the amp to a nice small 4 channel amp(or even 6 channels), an amp compatible with balanced inputs.

IMO, taking out any of the components from the bose system causes complications since they all work together in conjunction.

With either the headunit or amp replaced, you have to be careful not to induce noise since the bose system works with balanced signals. As with the speakers, you just need to make sure of the proper ohms resistance but getting to the rear side panel(coupe) and the rear deck can be quite extensive.

i think your best bet would probably be start with the amp, then HU, then speakers. the weakest link is the stock amp, thats what adds the crappy eq'ing
