Why can I not use my dual zone climate controls in a double din dash kit?

 

If you purchased the JDM double din dash kit you will need to remove the 'blank' dual-climate control button as well and carefully replace it with the one from the OEM A/C unit. You will also need to desolder one of the I/O chips off the OEM A/C circuit board and resolder to the JDM A/C circuit board where the dual-climate control button would go. Make sure to solder it so that it sits as flush as possible on the JDM circuit board, otherwise, when you replace the dual-climate control button over it, it won't make the little "clicking" noise when you touch it.
Depending on the year, you will also have to desolder/resolder the LED onto the JDM A/C circuit board as well, (I believe you need to do this on the '05 or later models, as the '03-'04 JDM A/C circuit board already includes the LED.)

It's a PITA and whole lot of work to simply to a clean aftermarket stereo install IMO but it does look good once completed.

 

I think this is one of the most important pieces of information on this message board. Just a single reply and like 60 views. Someone should really post a pic or two about how to prepare a JDM kit to support dual zone with your existing button. People all over this country are out buying metra kits because they don't know this.

 

You can order the DD kit with the DCC already installed! I think Riverside can help you out.

Dunno if the 03-04 ones keep the dual A/C, there might be one up there but short on time at the moment...

 

i think there is a thread on how to do this. i know i've seen it before. but there's so much stuff on here now it's hard to find things. it does take some time to do a search.

Dude that's sick. That's exactly what I was talking about. Anyone with an 03-04 sedan wanting to install an JDM AC controller and modify to keep your dual zone functionality, that link Leksikon just posted to the threat is your answer. Sweet, thanks bro.

 

that's it. i'm getting a JDM AC controller soon and this is def what i will be doing. i might mod the LED's too.

 

Im ordering this from riverside infiniti. I dont like the metra kit at all
