TPMS Question

Someone is selling a TPMS from a 2005 Infiniti FX35 and claims it works on my 2005 G35 coupe. I'm thinking of buying it for my set of winter wheels but wanted to be sure first.

Can someone please confirm? Thanks in advance!

Dous, I believe they'll fit your winter wheels but you need to have them programed. When winters over and you're back on summer wheels/tires, you may again have to get those programed. It's almost easier to keep the originals and just keep swapping them back and forth between winter and summer wheels....

I don't understand how the system works but won't I just need to program the winter tpms set and summer set once? Guess I'm trying to avoid taking the tpms off from the summer set as it cost money rather than just swapping the wheels, no?

Forgive my ignorance.

Each sensor transmits a specific frequency that has to "learned" by the car. If you register your winter set of sensors, your car will not recognize the summer set and vice versa.

My advice is to shop around the dealerships and focus on nissan dealers. Found one that will re-register sensors for $35 (local Infiniti dealers wanted $70 and above). That is cheaper than breaking down wheels and swapping out the sensors.

Also, make sure his sensors are #40700-CD001 or similar spec. That is what comes in our cars.
