I recently purchased a used 2005 G35 Sport Coupe from my local Infiniti dealer. It has just been returned from its' 39 month lease from the original owner. I noticed that the rear deck has a third brake light as well as a third brake light on the stock rear spoiler. Both lights are fully functioning and provide awesome brake lighting in the rear but I have yet to see this odd combination on any other G coupes.
Can anyone offer any insight?
Thanks!

spoiler prolly was installed by the previous owner and he did not disconnect the light on the rear window.

You can do it your self. Just pull the light out and unplug it

keep it, so if you ever want to sell your wing for an aftermarket, you'll already have your third brake light

Means sport pkg was installed at the dealer, rather than factory.

Mine's the same. If I would you I would remove said brake light, unless of course you like a rattling mess of insanity.

my car is like this too, I looked at the history of my vehicle and the previous owner had the dealer install the spoiler after it was purchased. I dont mind it but I'm sure its easy to disconnect.

just unplug the light but leave it there... that's what i did

and if you get it tinted, make sure to remove the housing for the light and then put it back in after they put on the tint. I forgot to do this but thankfully the tint guys knew all about G's so they did it for me

I ordered mine from the factory with all the features I wanted...and specifically ordered the Aero Kit from the factory so I did not have the third brake light in the back deck.
So yes, the person before you or the dealer installed it at the dealership.

OK. Sorry to hijack, but I have the opposite problem. My 05 G35 sports coupe has the spoiler, no deck light, but the spoiler light does not work, so I have no 3rd brake light. How can I enable the spoiler brake light? And does the Sport package come without the deck light?

The light on your spoiler don't work. I would check the wiring harness between the car and the trunk lid. Slide up the rubber boot and take a look at the wires, don't be surprised if more than one wire is broken. This is a common problem with G35's.
