Crap fuel economy
after driving 250 miles on a full tank over a few weeks , I calculated I'm only getting 13.5 miles to the gallon
I step on it occasionally but I cant see why it would be so low

yea i know this pisses me off to. I thought i was getting 21mpg and now ive only been getting like 17. Its frustrating as hell to not even drive that much and have to fill up gas every week........ I just drive 3 miles to the gym and i could just see the fuel needle dropping. OMG.
The reason why is its a g35, and i guess i have to get used to it. And because its a coupe.

In winter months you would usually want to run a lower weight oil such as a 5w 30 due to cold temperatures. Ever stick pancake syrup in the fridge? Same principle.

most of the problem is bad driver habits....or......ETHANOL......it is now derived from corn. The content as of now is 10% this alone is responsible for about 4% less mileage and POWER. Although this is only mandated in large cities most stations get it even in the suburbs. I have found that CITGO outside of city limits will usually NOT have it. When you find a station stick with it. You can also ask the owner/operator on premises what the content is as they know who the distributor is. Now the way I see it if I have a choice I want nothing to do with ethanol as it is hazadous to some metals and most rubber products. YOU do not want this crap in your lawn mower or chain saw. I live between York, pa and Harrisburg, Pa. and I now have found two stations. one on rt 15 Dillsburg, the other is Als auto in York, pa. The ethanol in my opinion is nothing but a scam anyway as the corn lobby is behind it and have passed around bribes to our legislators to vote for it. Wesley Clark heads up this group is now pushing for 15% content which will kill performance in most cars as most know it takes twice as much ethanol to make the same power as 93 octane gasoline, hence the loss of power and mileage. if you have some interest in this I have many facts and figures regading the above findings...let me know.

I noticed significantly better gas mileage after having my injectors and throttle body cleaned...
So many things can affect your mileage... having one tire 8 psi under will decrease your mileage by 4%...

So I've been cold-starting my car every day, letting it warm up for 30 minutes every day, drive on 5 minute trips, let some air out of my tires, drive 85mph in 4th gear, and put a dirty air filter in....and my MPG is STILL vrap!
WTF guys? WTF didn't I get teh civic?

wow, so i just did a brief (somewhat accurate) +/- 5%. And i'm getting 12.5 MPG. Yes i warm it up (for about 3 minutes or 5 minutes max) but i've done 2 longer trips (35 miles) each on this tank. Right now i've burned through just under half a tank and i have only drove 100 miles or 160 kilometers. Wow.
