So I noticed there are two kinds of wheel spacers. One that just connects to the hub and u use ur stock wheel studs or whatever its called..and the other one where ur stock studs locks onto the wheel spacers and the weel spacers has its own studs. whic one is better or does it not matter? Thanks .

 

You should never use OEM studs with spacers larger than 3mm; you simply cannot get enough turns.

That said, it does not matter what kinda of spacer you use. Neither is "safer" than the other.

Bolt-on spacers are more popular because they are easier to install. However, now all wheels will accept bolt-on spacers. In order to be compatible with bolt-on spacers, the back of the wheels need to be recessed so that the OEM studs have a place to sit.

Traditional spacers that require you to replace the OEM studs with aftermarket extended (typically included with the spacers) are compatible with all wheels. They are just a little more work to install.

If your spacers are larger than 10mm, make sure they are hubcentric.
