i think that tint looks bad, and can be a major pain to install around curves etc.
i had my body shop put some black into their clear coat and spray mine..came out way better than any tint would and you can polish it when it gets a little scratchy from washes etc. I actually bought the rear tint kit and used the center piece of the kit that your supposed to throw away , well i used it to cover the center while i had the clear sprayed on so after removing the tint piece that area stayed clear and looks like the skyline lights your talking about. i dont have any pics atm but if you wanna see pm me and ill take some for ya.

I like smoked lights, but not a fan of blacked out tints.

Bluebats, are great if you're not 100% you want to keep it.

Very light smoke is okay. IMO, blacked out taillights are tacky, ricer, and unsafe.
You're just asking for some old lady to plow into the back of your car at night if you do that.

I would just say save your time and money for a better mod.

I had a local tint shop do 25% tint on my tails. It looks great. It's darker than stock, but the lights are still visible in all conditions. It's more a "stealth" look than a blacked out look, but for $80 it tied the back end together wonderfully.

I agree with the others who said the look outweighs the consequences of an old lady plowing into your car. DOT regulates the brightness for a reason, visibility. Not to mention that it's most likely illegal in your state to have any sort of tail light cover (I don't know of any states where it is not illegal). Just some food for thought.
