Many crazy drivers out there in this world

Driving and minding my own business as a two lane road becomes one I took the front spot then a dodge strutus come up to my A$$ and was tailgating me really really close. At first, I thought nothing of it as I was driving 40MPH in a 35MPH road. All of a sudden the strutus pulls to the on comming lane to pass me. I immediate floor it but he was staying with me. The worst part was that he was moving his car into mine. I was like WTF. Well, I guess he has nothing to lose. I was a little dissapointed in the G's auto trans in the slow down shifting. If I pulled away then he will not have the opportunity to run me off the road. Damn, there are some crazy people out there in this world.

All I can say to all my fellow G-sters out there, please stay safe.

this is how i got rear ended by a Hummer H1...

2 lanes merged into 1 and he fought me for it... i won, then he was tailgating me and hit me twice...

got it all fixed, and his insurance gave him the boot. serves him right!!!

it sucks cause when someone tailgates you, you really cant do anything but flip them off and get the he!! out of there... dont want them to get too close to the G! this happened to me during lunch-time.

I didn't see anyone just say let him go by so he won't be tailgateing you.

Re: Many crazy drivers out there in this world

yeah, ppl should really learn how to drive and learn the rules/laws of the road. ppl ALWAYS believe they have the right of way in every situation!!!! : ( for example, it's happened so many times already to me where i'm minding my own business driving along and someone in the next lane changes lane right into me. i see it coming and either move out the way if it's safe, slow down, or speed up to avoid being hit. and almost every time, the other driver makes it out like he/she had the right of way and i did something wrong. i've gotten into many "discussions" with these drivers and they actually believe that since they signaled, they had the right of way and that i had to make room for them. forget the fact that they are right next to me and didn't bother even looking before they changed lanes. some ppl are just so lame!!!! : )

Re: Many crazy drivers out there in this world

Yeah, its amazing how many psychos there are on the roads. Its downright scary. Drunks, drugies, nut jobs, morons, they're all out there sharing the same road space with us. They shouldn't be driving, but they are.

Just this morning on the way to work, I see this guy bolting along the right side of the road, then cuts in front of me and several other cars all the way to the left turn signal, just to 'get in front' at the light. He's in a 1989 Ford Escort GT. The psycho takes off onto the parkway that I was going on at full speed. Just for curiosity, I follow him (not racing him of course) to see how fast he's going to go. I clock him at 105 MPH (didn't realize Escorts could go that fast). Came up to some traffic, and I slow back down to civil speeds, and watch him practically rear end the car in the left lane, before he slows down. Then he does the 'ol switch back and forth manuevers going from right to left to right to left, cutting everyone off. I did not follow. Total nut job.

Then I get this lady who has a death grip on her steering wheel - I'm in the right lane to exit the next exit, and she's supposed to YIELD to traffic as she merges on. Instead, she just pulls out into my lane without looking, doing 20 MPH while everyone else including me is doing 70 MPH. Fortunately the brakes on the G work great and I'm able to slow down without much issue. Then she gets scared of this car trying to get off going right, and she swerves into my exit lane almost hitting me! Again, doesn't even look to see if there was a car next to her. Once again, the G's brakes save the day.

People tailgating me really **** me off. Especially if they're in SUV's. I can stop my G from 60 in 110 ft. A typical SUV takes 30-40 feet longer than that. If I need to stop fast, there's no way they can avoid hitting me when they're tailgating. I would say 50% of the accidents in NY could be avoided if people didn't tailgate so much.

Re: Many crazy drivers out there in this world

You're not kidding. I've had my coupe 2 weeks today, and today alone, this is what I encountered:

8AM: Leaving for work, a Lexus backs out in front of me, I had to stop or run in to him
8:01AM Same Lexus is in left turn lane, I'm in right, waiting to get onto main road out of development; the Lexus then decides it will make a right turn, pulls out in front of and goes around me without looking.
6:50PM After waiting through yet another construction delay on I-40 a Jeep decides I no longer exist and comes into my lane, forcing me to brake and go off the road a little
7:20PM Traveling down I-77 toward Charlotte a van merges over in front of me and I notice the left rear tire is basically flat, and it's going 70MPH. Several people in the van. I wish there had been a way to warn them in case they didn't know but there was no safe way to do so. I just went around and got the heck away.

You have to be on guard constantly. Be safe!

Re: Many crazy drivers out there in this world

This is a lesson I learned when I first started riding motorcycles: You don't just drive your car, you drive everyone elses. You have to assume that other cars don't see you because much of the time, they don't! One thing I have always done to help out the idiots is to always drive with my lights on, especially since my last 5 cars have all been black. It actually helps. I learned this the hard way from my first car (Toyota Camry, couldn't kill that damn thing!) which I thought was cursed because people hit it all the time, then I tried leaving my lights on all the time and I never had another problem.

There is really no cure for terrible drivers though. We owe them all a debt of gratitude for keeping the insurance industry one of the most profitable. A-holes...

No kidding, I was wondering about the same thing.... a car behind you wants to go faster, he tried to pass you but you accelerate to block him off? WHY? Did you do it just to **** him off? I don't get it. That would make 2 crazy drivers in this scenario.

While on the subject of drivers that drive me nuts!!! I drive for UPS, so I see a lot of idiot drivers throughout the day(I know, some of you will say we drive crazy too)...but anyway..why are turn signals even installed on cars anymore? why? it's not like they are used! at least here in so.cal I can't stand when people go in front of me without a turn signal!

Re: Many crazy drivers out there in this world

Seriously I will let him pass me if I am not racing. The trouble of going through insurance, driving a rental for days, finding a good body shop, and waiting just irks me, even if it's his fault. Beating him is not worth the trouble. Cuz I know somewhere down the line there is gonna be a just as crazy guy and they can fight it out and injury each other.
