05 6mt just got it at 37500 now at 40 put moble 1 in it and seemed to burn a lil about the 3000 mark just toped it off

8 ounces in 7500 mile excessive? that's 1/4 of the cross hatched area of the dip stick. I don't think that's excessive. Most people change their oil every 3000 anyway.
