I read somewhere that there is a sound baffle underneath the stock intake box? How can I take this off?

the baffle is on the intake tube and cannot be removed. owners replace the stock g tube with a stock z tube that does not have the baffle.

the baffle is the resonator - you cut it off and fill in the open space with the resonator piece and some epoxy - very good mod if you're willing - keep the engine noise or intake noise down as oppose to ztube very loud drowning out he exhaust esp with a spacer - do it

A Z-tube actually compliments the exhaust sound. After switching from the stock intake pipe to a Z-tube, the exhaust sounded a bit louder at 3K RPM's and above and had a nice tone similar to a 350Z. Without the Z-Tube, the exhaust was just kinda flat and quiet at those RPM's. I hated it stock.

Sure you could remove the baffle on the OEM tube, cut it off and patch/glue the hole but for the cost of a nice Z-Tube why would you want to? The inside of the Z-Tubes are perfectly smooth which allows the air to enter unobstructed, you'll never get that patch on the OEM tube any where close....like I said "Why Bother!" Oh yea, the Z-Tubes sound incredible and even better with an aftermarket exhaust.
