Hey guys I was wondering, would my 05 G35 coupe AT beat a Porsche Boxter. Both cars stock. My buddy has a boxter and im getting my G in Oct. and he wants to race me. Who would win?

 

Is it a Boxster S? If not, then yeah you will beat him. I have beaten my friend's Box many times hehe

 

You should be able to take a Boxster S as well... assuming of course you get a VERY good launch and you're a GOOD driver.

Boxster S: 258hp / 229lb-ft

The Boxster is lighter which gives it a nice advantage on the 1/4 mile, but you should be able to take care of him at the upper end. Actually, I would say you would have a better chance from a roll.

As far as regular Boxster goes, like RaySur350GT, you should be able to walk on him easily.

The S is rated in the low to mid. 5's 0-60 I doubt that you could win.
The standard boxster around 6.1, would be a drivers race.

race him after you have over 5000 miles on ur car. otherwise i think u will lose

I have gone up against a Boxter S in the 1/4 mile and won. 1st time I won by .5 second. He said he messed up on the launch, so we went at it again and won by .2, so I'm 2 for 2 againts those Boxters =)
So with a very good driver, the Boxters S can win, drivers race.

I think you guys ain't giving the Boxster enough credit. The Boxster base, manual, runs similar 1/4 mile times to the G35c auto.

The Boxster S on the other hand, is FASTER than the G35c, both manual, w/ equal drivers. Heck, I'd venture that the Boxster S auto MAY BE faster than the G35c manual. Those Boxster S auto run low 14s. The Boxster S is about 500 lbs lighter than the G35c, & runs in the high 13s w/ manual.

The Boxster S costs $55k and only slightly faster. I count that as a win for the G35c.

 

and a modded civic can smoke ur *** and cost les than ur G. I cound that as a win for the civic. wutever.

 

On avg, from major US magazines, the Boxster S manual is about 0.6 s faster than the G35c in the 1/4 mile, that's pretty noticeable. Not to mention it also handles better.

Of course the G35c is still a better deal, but that's not the point of this thread, is it faster or not? It is not.

 

I had an '03 Boxster S before my G and I can tell you that it would be a drivers race. The non S should not be a problem at all. That goes true for auto or manual.

My point is that you're comparing apples to oranges. Why mod a civic if you can beat pretty much anything with a motorcycle? A modded G35c will beat the Boxster S and costs less, so what? That's not the point. Maybe I'm the only one here, but it only makes sense to compare cars in the same class. So the Enzo can beat the modded Civic, is that a fair comparison?
