i backed into another car,, not hurting it, but crumpling the right corner of my rear bumper.. The only thing harmed is this right corner but its crumpled pretty bad. I didnt see any paint chips or anything as i didnt hit the car very hard at all. Does anyone know approximately what this will cost? Will they have to replace the whole rear bumper? Thanks for any input.

 

believe it or not it's happend to alot of us...me included.. what i did was heat up the bumber using a hair dryer , kept it wet with water (so it doenst burn through the paint/wax) and got under there and pushed it back out. Our bumper is made of Plastic so once you start to get it pushed out it will just "POP" back out...I did that for mine and it is only noticeable by Me. Try that first and see if you're happy with that. If not, least it was worth as shot before buying a new bumper...

 

A NEW REAR BUMPER, PAINTED, AND INSTALLED BY A QUALITY SHOP SHOULD BE ABOUT $550. I WAS REAR ENDED A COUPLE MONTHS AGO AND THAT WAS THE ESTIMATE I WAS GIVEN BY A BODY SHOP APPROVED BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY.

BLACKG3, I dont think that price you got includes the price of the part (new bumper which costs about 260), because I recieved two estimates before I got mine fixed and I received 450-500 to just repair the bumper or 750 to install whole new bumper...

 

well i went out there and stuck my hand under the bumper like thekid said and pushed it out to where theres only a small dent and small nick where the paint came completely off leaving just the black plastic. I tried vainly to get the small dent out but i couldnt it just kept popping back to its position.. I dont think I'm gonna need a new bumper just to get that fixed, but I bet if i took it to my dealership they would think so =).
