Pop-Charger install, slight problem?

So, I got my pop-charger and z-tube in the mail today from skddmorse. I had no instructions, and decided to wing it. After getting everything installed ut the heat shield, I found a guide online that showed it all. Which I basically hit the nail on the head, but there was one small problem. When I installed the heat shield, the little rubber connector part that hooks up to the little air intake thing on top of the radiator doesn't hook up all the way. There's a slight gap in the front of it. Should I be worried? Or what could I do to adjust it? I have 2 pics.

From what I see I think you're missing the rubber piece that goes on the little air intake piece.

Just took it for a test drive and holy schnitzel. I can definitely feel that extra kick as I get over 4k rpms. It sounds quieter at idle, and revving. But deeper at the same time. But once I get over 4k, that thing ****in screams.

Although what I'm going to do is cut the part of the stock intake that hooks into the TB and use that as the 2nd piece. Or maybe try an make one big piece out of something. I'll figure it out.

Wait until the weather warms up and you have to deal with heatsoak. Then you'll be the one that's screaming, and not in a good way.

I've never had any problems with mine in 100+ heat imo

Could be the picture (second one) but does anyone else think filter needs a little more oil charging? I see a lot of cotton with not much on there. Mine was always much more blue while in service with JWT's oil.

OP...check those three areas where the wire mesh on filter are compromised (second pix). Make sure there's no holes through cotton or might as well not even be running a filter.

Make sure your MAF housing is not rubbing against your A/C line either. I put plastic wire loom over my A/C line to protect it. It was real close to rubbing, so I CYA'd it. Have read expensive repair stories who didn't protect that aluminum line.

Thinks that it. Just looking out for ya. Enjoy

Sorry guys but heatsoak is a well known killer of HP and the pop does nothing to prevent this hot air from entering the engine. I am not the only member here that believes the pop is an inefficient intake in regards to power increases. I will say that it looks great and sounds mean in the high RPM's so if that's what you are looking for go for it.

If you are looking for an efficient intake there are much better choices and lots of threads to debate the differences between them all. Here's a recent thread that talks about a few and heatsoak. https://g35driver.com/forums/intake-...r-intakes.html

I apologize if it sounds like I'm hating, but I just speak MY truth.

I will double check all of that today after work and wrap what it is probably rubbing. skdd cleaned everything before he shipped it, but I wanna buy a replacement filter just in case.

+1

during the heat wave 100+ my car was sluggish. It definately works better in cooler temps. But no intake is going to do much performance wise anyway and the popcharger always did sound good at WOT.

What really matters here is if you like it. If you do, it doesn't matter what my opinion or anyone else's is.
