stock sway bar question

hey guys,

I brought my car into the shop today to get my fluids changed and I noticed my front sway bar was pretty beefy and it looked powered coated blue. It was covered in road grim but where it was cleaned off, it was definitely blue. The only reason I poked around was because i have this weird clunk sound when I reverse out of my driveway. I makes the sames noise as when I had the compression rod changed. It fixed the initial clunk but now it's back again on the same side..that's for another day.

Anyways, is that a stock sway bar? The rear one was definitely stock and very small, looked like your typical stock sway bar.

one way to be sure is to check and see if there are multiple adjustment holes at the ends. If there are, its not stock.

Blue sways are definitely not OE, did you notice they have three holes in each end for adjust ability. They should be mounted using the center hole, that's kinda the neutral position. Lucky you, you got a G with aftermarket sways....

^More like one aftermarket sway bar, according to the OP lol. I wouldn't be surprised if the last owner painted his stock sway bar to make it look aftermarket

ill try and post up a picture of it that i took. It's poor quality (blackberry). Like i said though, it's really thick, doesn't look stock because it's so thick and looked powder coated in blue. I don't remember if there were adjustments on it or not, but if it is after market, I guess that could be a good thing? But it also tells me the car was probably driven hard...lol Actually, the car has a g35driver.com sticker on the driver side rear window and a nismo sticker on the front passenger side, side skirt. I bought it from Woodchester Infiniti in Mississauga. It's a silver '05 6MT, Anyone know the previous owner?

The OEM front sway is pretty thick. Thicker than my aftermarket Motordyne front sway.

What shade of blue is it? Companies like Cusco sell their sway bars separately, so it's possible that the previous owner only put a front sway on.

don't worry about the color. People paint and powder coat parts for whatever reason. Circumference of the tubing is likely to be the same stock or other wise. The best way to know is to look for the adjustment holes at the end of the bar. Just turn the wheel to the far left and look inside the front part of the drivers side front wheel well. You will easily see the end of the sway bar.
