Re: Liscence Plate in Front Bumper
same situation here. when they installed the plates they drilled two holes into the bumper, and LOPSIDED AT THAT (had to mod my plate adapter to straighten it out). I dont think theres anything you can do about this. maybe you could leave the screws in and get some screw head caps and paint them, but this will probably look awkward
Re: Liscence Plate in Front Bumper
Suppose I got lucky with not having the dealer puncture the front fascia for the plates, but since front plates are required in Texas, I need to find an alternative.
Does anyone have the Stillen plate holder that screws into the tow hook? Or is anyone aware of a cheaper alternative that does the same thing?

I live in Texas as well; if you get pulled over tell the cop that the dealer did not provide you the mounting hardware. Tell him that you have requested the mounting gear but is has not arrived. So far I have been pulled over once with nothing more than a warning. I have no intension of mounting that thing on the front of my car.

if you go to....i think it's Bumperplugs.com, they sell bumper plugs for Porsches. I haven't tried them, but can't see why they wouldn't work. I would just order the color closest to your car and see how well it matches. If it is way off, try buying a can of duplicolor or if you're really ****, have a body shop do it, but they may not take such small work. Or just ask local G guys with your color car if they are getting anything painted soon and ask if you can throw these plugs in the batch. I can't see them not working.
The only problem is that they are abou $35. Lil procey if you ask me. My friend got them for his boxster and they look nice. They sit basically flush with the bumper and def. look better than a plate or 2 holes!

Re: Liscence Plate in Front Bumper
I have the Stillen adapter for the front plate. It's simple to install or uninstall for that matter. No holes in the front bumper and you can easily replace the square plug if you change you mind. I live in Texas where the front plate is required by law. By not using the front plate you give the cop a reason to pull you over and check for other things.
Re: Liscence Plate in Front Bumper
yeah I did that on my maxima after I got it painted, I just told the cops that I just had the car painted with new bumpers and that the mounting bracket was back ordered from nissan, one cop let me slide the other didnt, so the second time I got a $60 ticket i think, only happened once in the 3 years since I had the plate off, when I buy my G im gonna make sure the dealership doesnt drill holes for a front plate.
