G45 for 06
I have it on good athority (my brother is an assistant editor at MT) that Infinity is going to but the 8 cylinder into the G as an option, similar to the FX lineup. This should be part of the overall design changes slated for 06-07. Est. horsepower are in the 350-360 range.

How much cash do you want to put on this one? The 06' M45 which is based on the G35/FX/Z platform is getting the option of a lower VQ35 base model and a 340 hp 4.6 V8 for the higher model. No V8 for the G. Second, Infiniti/Nissan announced back in 2002 in the first G35 press releases that the current platform will be around for 7 model years with only minor revisions across those years. There won't be a redesign until 2010.

The M45 coupe will have the 4.5 V8. Doesn't make sense to have a G with the 4.5 engine. It does make sense for Infiniti to sell a high performance version with factory twin turbos, but I doubt they'll do that. When I bought my G35c, I would have gladly paid an extra $10k for a factory warrantied twin turbo since it'll cost about that much to get a kit and installed anyways.

Well with a GT-R slated to be in the works, who knows what they might do for the power plant. Twin Turbo or Supercharged VQ? Perhaps a V8? Not sure it will hit the states. I'll remain skeptical until I see something more concrete, but I would certainly love to see it happen. Though I'd have to figure out a way to trade up if it did.

G35 for 340hp........ Why? a 6MT G35 has 300hp. I don't think the extra 40hp can justify development cost, fuel economy, handling balance, weight and engineering. Makes no sense whatsoever. 
Enough people are wondering why pay the extra $7k for a FX45 vs FX35 already.
