im 21 and getting a new car this months, and i was planing 4 a G35 coupe 4 about an year. but later the new bmw 5 series catched my eye also and i decided 2 get it but i also wanna get a g35 too.so its like betwwen luxury and performance. havng hardtime 2 make a decision....any sugestions???

 

525s are under powered. If you can afford it go with the 530.

I say it's either G35 or a V8 5 series..... Those 6 cylinder 5 series are WIMPS! Unless the badge is very important to you.... in that case go for it. Base 525i with cloth seats and no options.

Only get a 5 series if its a 540 or M5, considering you prob. cant afford the M5 i would say 540, all of the rest arent worth the money and are way underpowered for those heavy cars. If its a new 5 series i would say 545, they are very quick!! I would say for your age you def. want a coupe, you could still lounge in a coupe and chill, and then stomp on it and be out. If you were looking for perfroamcne in a sedan wait for the o5 sedan, the 6 speed ver. will have 298 hp same as the coupe or the auto will have 277 or somethig like that.

E60 5er is ugly, 525i is dog slow. I love BMW but the recent Bangle styled Bimmer just does not cut it.

I wouldn't rtecommend anything other than a V8 in the BMW 5 series. 525 & 530 are underpowered. Personally, I prefer the previous gen 5 series and if you're shopping around look for a 2002-2004 used 540i..beautiful car, beautiful styling and very fast.

If you only cares about refinement and luxury then go for the BMW.

Lookwise only you can decide that for yourself.

 

I think its up to you whether you want a coupe or a luxurury sedan. If you have decided on the 5, get 540i mt, you will not regret. Your only 21, I say get the G , I always feel 5 series are for people whol are older in general. Jus my opinion...

Just to be fair, ask the same question at the BMW forum again. You may have a better idea.

 

I infact like the older design of Bimmer. It looks more timeless.

jumping from 525 to a E55?
the new M5 will rape E55 around the track. The new M5 outhandles E55. E55's are only faster on a straight road.
