Fuel Gauge Problem
Fuel Gauge Problem
So this is the first time it happened today.
The problem is, while I was driving, I just happened to have my navi set to show fuel economy. While looking at it my fuel level was dropping fast.
I was at half a tank and probably no more than 20 miles of driving I was from 180 miles left on the tank, then all of a sudden 70, then my gauge hit the fuel light. I was worried and pulled to the service road to look for a gas station. During my looking for a gas station to stop, the gauge started to go back up again. So I made it to my destination and parked to see if fuel was leaking, no fuel smell whatsoever. So when I was leaving it showed empty, so I went to the gas station and filled in about 6 gallons. The fuel till empty fluctuated between 160-140 miles.
I finally made it to work, and I came back out after 30 minutes or so to check the fuel level, now it shows 315 till empty. This seems about right considering the fuel that should have been consumed compared to the extra fuel I put in. This shows that more than likely its not a fuel leak
Anyone know what could be the issue here?
