swap 03 door grip with 05+ ?

Hello.

I am brand new to the forums, and just recently picked up a used 2003 g35 coupe. It's in pretty good shape, but there is some general wear and tear that I am going to try and fix up.

I've noticed that my driver side door grip isn't looking great (a lot of places missing paint) and I'd like to replace it. From what I've read it looks like the 03-04 coupes have an "Aluminum Finish", where the 05-07 have a "Brushed Aluminum".

Would the brushed aluminum fit, without modification, into my 2003 coupe? Or were the door grips styled differently between the years?

Thanks!

I dont think they will fit. You can either buy new stock ones from your local dealer or just sand paint and clear coat them for a great new look....

I wouldn't be surprised if they do fit. I doubt Nissan modified the entire door panel fot the new 05+ trim. I'm thinking the same mounting points... In fact, I'm confident that they would. However, I've never tried so no guarantees.

Yeah, I've only seen small generic pictures of the door grip in question, although they seem to have the same shape. I'll keep digging around, maybe call down to a dealership (though I have a feeling most wouldn't know the answer).

I'm kind of surprised that no one has tried this before though. Wear on the interior seems fairly common on these cars. I'd hope that the actual metal grips would wear better then the painted ones.

I'll post if I find more info.

Your other alternatives are to paint or wrap your current ones in c/f vinyl or fabric.

Here are my 05+ handles wrapped in c/f fabric:

Here is the 3m c/f vinyl:

Or you can follow this DIY to paint them:
