Read The Ffffff...fine Manual

There should be a MIN and MAX line on the reservoir, the level when cold should be between the two, else add. From what I've read, it's best to use Nissan coolant.

Thanks for the post, it made me check mine.

Go to your local grocery store and buy a gal of Distilled water and fill the radiator overflow tank up to the warm line when you get home....easy fix!

^^^call nissan, ask what they use, might be able to pick it up locally. either way you might want to have it flushed....depending on how many miles you have on the car.

You shouldn't be low on coolant at all, your car is only 3 years old with 23,000 miles. take a look at the tank you want to fill, it probably has fluid in it but much lower, it is not supposed to be anywhere close to full. I hope your not low on fluid, if you are, bring it back for warranty because you may have a leak, check to make sure your cap is tight as well, could just be your cap needs replacing, then you might as well just drain your fluid and put some new high quality stuff in if you can diy.

Ya I thought it was weird but there is very little in there, only a small amount at the bottom of the tank. I had it checked out by my mechanic before I bought it and he didnt find anything but maybe I will have him look again, I guess for now I will just fill it up with some coolant and see if it goes down again, thank you!

Nice.. more Mass. G35 Coupe owners.

I have Prestone green coolant in mine. I flushed the whole system out and put in new coolant about 2 years ago... I'm probably due for another flush this spring. Prestone works just fine in our cars. You don't want to mix the red and green coolants though... that's a bad BAD situation because the 2 will start to form a nasty gel and sometimes even crystallize inside the reservoir, radiator and motor.... eventually plugging things up and causing potentially expensive repairs.

The coolant in your reservoir should be green.. if so, buy a gallon of distilled water, and a gallon of Prestone, and make a 50/50 mix of water/coolant, and pour in the necessary amount to fill your car up.

The fact that your coolant is low is not likely to be a problem, given that your car is pretty new and seems to be running OK. Your coolant level will sometimes drop in cold weather due to expansion/compression of fluid in cold weather, especially in places like Mass where it gets really really cold at this time of year. If you start noticing that your fluid consistently keeps getting low and does so quickly after refilling it, then you might want to be slightly concerned about possible leaks in the cooling system or a head gasket.

Where are you at in Mass? I'm in Raynham.

Hmm very good info! see I wish I knew more about cars, but I know very little. Thanks for the help. I live in Framingham and work in Boston. Good to see a Mass person!
