The limited range of the factory remote will cancel out all of the pros of being able to remotely start your vehicle.
Get a full system and you'll definately be able to take advantage of the 1200'+ range offered by the best units.
If your heart is set on keeping your OEM remote PM Korz - he's a heck of a nice guy AND he had a unit installed on his sedan that works with the OEM remote. I haven't seen him around here lately though....
