Infiniti's Lemon Law in Washington

I have a 2006 coupe, and I have a rattle coming from what sounds like the driver side air vent. I have taken my car to the dealership several times to try and get this fixed under warranty.

However, I live in Seattle and the only dealership around is on the newer side of town. All the streets around the dealership are brand new and super smooth. I had a hard time even getting them to believe there was a problem at first.

They did finally hear the rattle and think they have the problem solved everytime I pick up my car (I have had the car in about half a dozon times). Because the roads are so smooth in that area, I do as well. However, by the time I get back to Seattle, the rattling louder than ever. When I called them again today (20 minutes after getting my car home) to find out what to do, they said that my car has already raised a red flag since they have spent more than $3000 fixing rattles and Infiniti may envoke a lemon law clause. Anyone on here had experience with this or know what it means for me?

Not sure on Washington's specific laws (might have to google that one), but speaking from experience dealing with California Lemon Laws, you might have a chance at either A) Getting a replacement for your vehicle (If you bought new), or B) Having a full refund of your purchase price from the manufacturer.

Basically, due to the number of visits, and hours spent in the dealership fixing a problem under warranty, they are willing to declare this a Lemon vehicle, and give you a chance to purchase a functional vehicle through the manufacturer (Infiniti), not the dealership.

Since the dealership said that INFINITI will invoke a Lemon Law clause, you most likely do not have to hire a lawyer. However, make sure no additional costs come from you during the proceedings, as all costs should be incurred towards the manufacturer. If needed, contact your local Lemon Law attorney, they'll work with you without any money from your own pockets!

I would hate to give up my coupe due to a rattle. It's been my experience that Infiniti mechanics are not the best trained, I'd rather pay out of pocket to get something fixed rather than give up my coupe. If you have a Nissan dealership near Seattle ask them to help find your rattle and explain the situation. That's what I'd do....

Which store are you going to? Kirkland or Fife? I've had trouble going to the store in Kirkland. I had a 30,000 mile service done before leaving Denver. Car was shipped to Seattle. Went for a 3k oil change in Kirkland and they tried to claim $1,500 in repairs that needed to be done. They then claimed that they had no record of my 30,000 mile service at the Denver Infiniti Store. I was so pissed. The Infiniti stores up here in WA aren't the best...

But try the Fife store, if you haven't already and see what they say. Infiniti stores can pull your service records from any dealership in the country, so don't let them tell you otherwise...

I go to Kirkland for service....Fife is a good hour drive from where I live. The dealership has done a good job trying to fix the problem.....Its just everytime I get back to Seattle, I find out they didn't fix anything. I wish they would open a dealership in Seattle so I can take them on I-5 and let them hear what I hear. The techs in Kirkland are only allowed to go about 5 miles away from the dealership according to their insurance. I don't want to give up my coupe but this rattle is getting worse and driving me nuts.
