Diff question

How do i tell if i have a 3.3 or 3.5 diff and if it is LSD or an open diff? Also if it is an open diff can i change the core to make it a LSD? Thanks.

One other question i forgot to ask. If mine is a 3.5FD can i just get a 3.3 gear and put it in mine or do i also have to use the pumpkin that the 3.3 came out of? I did find out that it is a LSD and i forgot to say it is a 03 g35. Thanks.

Auto = 3.3
Manual = 3.5

If you have a 3.5 why would you want a 3.3 unless you are pushing some serious hp and need longer gearing? And to answer your question it would be more cost effective to replace the whole pumpkin......

I'm not running serious power but I am FI and from what I have read that it helps stay in boost longer. So I was going to find a 3.3 pumpkin and put a LSD in it.

Yes you can swap diffs without a problem.

Do you have a 6MT coupe? Then you have a 3.5 w/ VLSD 90% of the time.

Auto coupe? Then you have a 3.3 w/ VLSD 90% of the time..

Find someone with a 3.3 w/ VLSD and ask them to do straight up trade but they pay for labor.

I thought VLSD only came on 6mt coupes? Correct me if I'm wrong. I have a 03 5at coupe. What am I equipped with Diff wise??
