Re: best radar detector

I have the Valantine 1 and I don't think I would use any other after using this one. I love knowing in what direction the threat is so I don't have to slow down for just a arbritrary beep going off. The arrows once you know how to use them are invaluable.

Re: best radar detector

A white coloured vehicle is the easiest target for a laser gun as the colour white reflects all colors including laser’s infrared light. The darker the vehicle the more difficult it is to target. A black car with no chrome (G35 do have a chrome grill at the front of the car), no front plate, and pop down headlights is virtually impossible to target with laser.

quotes from: http://www.speedzones.com/

now I know why we have chrome grill... I'm gonna paint the grill to BLACK!!!

Re: best radar detector

while you're at it, "smoke" the headlights lightly.. probably won't hurt.

Re: best radar detector

well, here in So Cal cops like to use Ka on the highways.

I have a valentine one and it picks up Ka on the freeways very well. But remember, no radar detector is a COP detector. But from my experience, my V1 has been good to me.

I installed the V1 small display thing in my ash tray, perfect spot.

Are you able to close the ash tray door?

Re: best radar detector

Uh, I have no front plate and I've been hit with laser twice. Luckily I was going slow enough.

To answer the original question, do NOT think "cheapest". No matter how much you spend, it WILL pay for itself eventually.

Re: best radar detector

big debate is v1 or passport. i have v1 and it has saved me numerous times. bought in on cousins recommendation. if he said get passport, i would have.

04 6mtC, DG - possibly most babied G on the board.
