I'm trying to just make u-turns on intersections without having to reverse and then drive. I usually have the VDC off, it's just annoying, but iuno if it works all that well

I've learn to deal with the horrible turn radius on the G but it's been tough lately when hoping out of my gf's new Benz, i make U-turns in that thing that i couldn't dream of in the G.

I have to do this every time in the G at the U-turn in front of costco in south san francisco.. the turn radius definately sucks compared to our toyota land cruiser, bmw 335, and audi a3. I live on a cul-de-sac(sp?) and go around the turn almost once a day to park on the other side of the street, and I have to take it as wide as possible in the G, but can turn on a dime in the other cars. The A3 can literally make a full circle in a 2-2.5 parking space area

Haha agreed. Streets in Houston are for big people who drive big cars lol. Plus there are a lot of truckers and stuff so the lanes and what not are fairly sized.

Well, compared to our truck the G has a great turning radius.

But our M5 (which is a solid foot+ longer wheelbase than the G) has a better turning radius. Kind of sad really.

But I deal with it, the G's turning radius isn't bad, but it isn't great.

You should try driving the Altima 3.5. I almost was T-boned doing a "surprise" 3 point U-turn on a 2 lane road.... the G is pretty nimble so I'm surprised you find the radius wide. The engine on the G is longitudinal vs transversal on the Altima which gives deeper wheel wells on the G, allowing the front wheels to have greater turning angles... this also shortens the leg room in the G...

IMO turning radius on german vehicles such as BMW, Audi, Mercedez is far more superior than the japanese cars like Lexus, Infiniti, Acura.

Like people said, the G is not too shabby for a japanese car.

Yeah, and BMW, Audi, and Mercedes also cost like twice as much as Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura. For that much they better have a better turning radius.

Twice as much?! German cars like the 3 series, C-class, and an A4 definitely do not cost twice as much as a comparable cars like the G, IS, or a TL but have a similar price range w/ in a difference of just few thousands depending on the option package. Also, the turning radius has nothing to do with the price tag of the vehicle IMO. Do you actually think a R35 GTR will have a better turning radius than a S2000 which costs about half the price???

Compared to my girlfriends Mazda 3, the G35's turning radius is like a semi-truck.

But what gives; I don't make U-turns often and when I do I usually have plenty of space to do it... Or like others said, VDC off and punch it =D
