Theft/Breakin Prevention

I'm STL and break-ins are as common as the cold. The G coupe is sooooo easy to break into but there are always little things that can help with break-ins. One I have yet to try is weather the passenger cap, where normally a key hole is, is universal to the driver side??? Has anyone ever tried this?

Yes it will fit. PM tony@riversideinfiniti or rick@riversidenifiniti (screen names of users on here) and they can ship you one that's painted for cheaper than waht most dealers charge, picked up.

It's called a key hole delete escutcheon.

that's not going to help much.. our cars don't have shock sensors so you need to get that installed..

+1 on shock sensors. Get that aftermarket security system installed ASAP!

What do you guys think of a stealth install? Gutting the car interior and installing the alarm so it can't be tampered with.

Oh yeah. I used to have my old 5 Cylinder Acura Vigor (yes 5) and I would just take the main relay with me. Can't start the car without it!

Let your doberman sleep in the car at night.

Funny.... You can have a shock sensor installed in your OE alarm for not much $ or even better get an aftermarket alarm. Those key hole covers are worthless when all they do is toe your car and strip it and break a window in the process....start with a shock sensor!

A guy on one of the radar detector boards I belong to leaves an empty holster for a 9mm on the dash of his Vette....hasn't had a problem yet...

+1 on the shock sensor addition to the factory alarm, I plan on doing that soon.

^^ I don't see anything wrong with what he's posting....

Anyway, the Viper alarm system is pretty awesome.. My friend has that set-up. Nothing has ever happened to his car but he's shown me what it can do. Pretty legit stuff but it costs a pretty penny. If you live in an area that warrants a system as such, then I'd say it's worth it.

Why tease with a 9mm holster, in houston the tow trucks ****** cars the fastest. This is what I do with my civic since no1 touches my G. Civics are always stolen out here so what i did was take a peice of black wire tape and put it over the blinking LED light for the alarm inside the car. This helps because most crooks knows to look for the blinking light first. They see no light they think there is no alarm. I then put my alarm in silence mode, that way when they break in the car it will notify my pager but not make any noise at the car. The last option I did on my civic because I know ppl know how to open the hood and disable the alarm, I actually use a backup alarm thats in the trunk hidden. So now I have the advantage, they break into the car, the car notifies me silently with the pager, they disable the battery but the alarm still is going off silently with my pager. I get up with my 9mm out of the holster and catch them in the act. Has happended only once but i was at my girlfriends apartment and didnt carry my gun but I did call the cops and they got caught in my civic trying to steal my radio. They was taking their time because they didnt think i had a alarm on it. Funny

Give the fool a chance, he might actually learn something by going through every thread. Hopefully...
