Our members are 100% correct and the stealership is full of....you know, that's caused by a very low quality hood repaint. Or as my first g/f called it, "a quickie" which is also poor quality....

it was a factory paint becasue its a factory hood.... inside where the hoodlatch is its still black and none of the rivits that connect the top and bottom of the hood have been removed leading myself and others to believe that it hasnt been repainted but just not ptoperly dipped after paint??? Either way it was under warranty and infinity will not take care of it.....

Just because it's a factory hood doesn't mean it has a factory paint job...

that is not only a repaint, it is a replacement hood. the black/gray that is showing through is a primer coat that is put on all replacement panels. everyone is correct in stating that poor prep before paint is the cause of your problem. run your vin through a carfax and i'll bet that your car has been in a front end collision in its history.
