Searched... Skyline? Really?
Most people do it not because it's a skyline 350gt in Japan, they do it because it sounds "faster" than a G35.
I guess they think it also looks cooler too.
The 350z is called the FairladyZ in Japan. You don't see any Z owner re-badge their Z.
The M35/M45 is called the Fuga in Japan. You don't see any M35/45 owner re-badge to the Fuga.. LOL
Why because it doesn't sound as cool as "skyline".

I wouldn't say it's a lack of pride. The simple fact is that its only called the "infiniti g35" to jack up prices in north america.
^I completely agree, if anything its having the pride to take your car back to its roots and not just being some douche that thinks he is better cause it says infiniti on the back and not nissan, im not that way and neither are most the people on this forum, i think. To be fair though, I find lexus owners to be the worst offenders, just try and tell em its a Toyota. lol

Infiniti, Lexus, and Acura are marketing programs put in place by the Japanese auto makers Nissan, Toyota, and Honda. That's it. Infinitis are Nissans.
That said I plan on leaving the Inifiniti badges, and changing it to a "420TT" when I stroke and tt the engine.
On the other hand, when I buy a GT-R, I plan on removing the "Nissan" emblem on the back.
The car on the left has a Nissan badge and I like the Inifiniti look more.

better IMO

jibberjabbers....take off your OEM "Infiniti" grill and see what it says on the back of it. Ill bet you your car it says Nissan. Whats so bad about turning the car back into what it really is? Yea its not a RHD car because we dont have RHD cars here in the US because we drive on the RIGHT hand side of the road, not left. Why spend the insane amount of money to import a RHD "real" 350gt or convert from LHD to RHD when we have the exact same car here in the US. impractical. It like saying left handed people arent real people. Sure they may write with a different hand, but theyre the same as right handed people.
I think either you love it or hate it..I think if your gonna rebadge it skyline you should go all jdm..seats, console, gauge cluster, doors, body, everything..Its just like people that like stretched tires and neg offsets and camber and stuff..the total jdm conversion is a segment of the tuner community if done right its great if thats what your into, if your not into it dont bash it its a legit segment of the community..imho

here is a nice chart that shows all the Skyline models made:

A little history on the skyline:

and of course the wiki page has lots of info also

i know the clock is digital vs. the infiniti analog and no compass in the JDM thermostat display, but whats different about the gauge cluster(i.e. spedo, tach, etc)?
Again, M35/45 is called a Fuga. I don't see that many Fuga badges here. Haven't seen that many FairladyZ badges either. Mostly Skyline, because it sounds cooler. This is of course just my opinion. The "roots" thing. I don't buy it. Unless I see a right hand drive conversion, and so on.
