Need help deciding...

I just got my new car (06 blk/blk G coupe 6MT). After doing some search I came up with a little mod list of what I think I wanna get over the months. But I cant decide which to get first. These are the options i'm undeceive about: Stillen short throw shifter Or JWT PC w/ Z-tube. I wanted a short shifter anyway so I thought I might as well get it early so I can just get used to that with the car, since i'm already getting used to this car you know?

Let me know what you guys think. just start with the engine mods or get the shifter outta the way.

Thanks

-Christian

Installing the short shifter on your 6MT is a great idea, makes driving just that much more fun. With your '06 G35 the best bang for your buck is MotorDynes MREV2 and 5/16" spacer. Pop chargers will cause you major issues, just get a Z-Tube and K&N drop in filter. That way you won't have issues with heat, our G35s love cool air and the POP chargers will just kill HP....that's called "Heat Soak."

Don't bother with the Stillen or Nismo STS kits. If you're looking for a short throw shifter, pick up a rogue engineering kit. It's a much better alternative that has fewer issues with noise.

So you think the PC produces alot of heat? b.c that was on my mind when trying to decide either the stillen hi-flow with Ztube or the JWT PC. but the stillen has a better heat shield. Thanks for the heads up on the PC heat soak issues

the PC allows too much heat to get in, not produces a lot of heat.

a lot of hate on Popchargers lately on driver... I like mine. Sounds great.... I'm considering waiting for a hot day and switching back to my K&N Filter and Stock airbox to see if I can notice the difference in power w.o the heat soak

You're from my home town, but from this quote you don't sound like you're too familiar with the basic g35 performance mods.

It's a jwt pop charger or stillen intake (one or the other). And as far as ss kits. the rogue engineering kit is by far the best on the market.

OP your best bet and bang for the buck (as gary stated) is a 5/16" plenum spacer and mrev2 from motordyne. Also save yourself money and hp and get a K&N drop in filter and skip the PC. I have a PC myself and yes, it sounds cool, but not worth the loss in hp due to heat soak.

For winter i use jwt pop charge and for summer i use the Stillen pop charger.. (stillen is pretty much same thing as oem airbox just with a bigger air filter. but i like both.
