What Exhuast for Lowered G35? Ground Clearance issues..
I purchased a used ivory pearl 2005 g35 6mt coupe about a month ago, and ive been trying to read up on it as much as possible. The previous owner had done some slight visual modifications to the car, including lowering by about 1" all around.
I think the G sounds brilliant, and one of the first things I want is to add an exhaust. But in the area I live, the car is constantly bottoming out coming in and out of driveways and I am worried adding an aftermarket exhaust will only exacerbate the problem.
Does anyone know of an exhaust setup that sounds good, without sacrificing too much ground clearance? I hate to drag a $1500 polished metal exhaust across the pavement everyday.
Thanks for the input.

Its just got some springs on it, I have no idea what kind they are. The ride isnt bad. Ive owned a lowered car before, so i know how to creep it around at at angle. Its more the plastic undercarriage guard that will touch in some driveways. But im in college in Chapel Hill, and as the name suggests, everything is on an incline. Most of the entryways into places are built at just idiotic slopes. I laugh watching cop cars bottom out all the time, and they are driving stock height crown victorias (although they are driving much to quickly).
But besides all that, you dont see any aftermarket exhausts hanging much further below the car than stock?
i ask because some of the mufflers look quite large, and ive seen quite a few pictures like these

If you only dropped an inch, then there should be no issues of you scraping the exhaust in the rear. My *** is dropped about an inch and I never scrape my HKS exhaust. Since my front is dropped like 1.2-1.4", my y-pipe scrapes all the time, thats the only piece you have to worry about when dropped on springs. You know what color the springs are?

here's the deal, with your drop you will scrape the front end decently often but will basically have to try in order to catch the back. My buddy uses HKS which i believe to probably have one of the lowest clearances of an aftermarket exhaust and I don't believe he has ever scraped
just my 2c, but you shouldn't need to worry much at all about exhaust clearance if you are taking turns and speed bumps correctly
