Front Lip Spoiler Question
Front Lip Spoiler Question
To those of you that have the front-lip spoiler on your cars, do you like it? Is it worth the money?
I was thinking about getting one for my car as someone told me I should look into it when I went to have my stupid gas-door looked at. Just let me know your opinions about it.
Thanks!

Re: Front Lip Spoiler Question
Yes, love it. Seems to be very rare. I see G35's all the time around here and I'd say 1 in 10 has the front lip. Looks great IMO and it's nice and subtle but noticable.

Re: Front Lip Spoiler Question
I love mine! It gives the front end a really nice look; it's subtle, but also very noticeable when it's next to another G. Just be careful on steep driveways, as I often scrape mine.
And yes, it's definitely worth the money. It also kind of makes the car look lower, which is cool.

Re: Front Lip Spoiler Question
Thanks for the input guys... After seeing those hot pics, I will try and place my order today. Hopefully I won't get ripped off on installation....Infiniti service from my dealer isn't the best by no means. Should I have a respected body shop put it on instead?
Re: Front Lip Spoiler Question
From what I've read on forums, it doesn't sound like it's that much of a job to DIY (disclaimer: bought mine installed). If they're charging you any kind of substantial fee, you may want to give it a shot.

Re: Front Lip Spoiler Question
Do not, I repeat: DO NOT go to a dealer to have it installed. If you have the most basic skills you will be able to slap that sucker on by yourself. I did it myself and saved some $150 for an hour and a half worth of dealer labor. If you're not sure whether you can do it yourself, open the box, take a look at the install guide and decide for yourself - it was a piece of cake for me - definitely not a brain surgery...
Good luck.

I agree with Speed, don't let the dealer install. It's a bit of a pain to do solo, but if you have a buddy to use as an extra set of hands, its very basic. The hardest part is drilling into your bumper, it made me cringe, but all was ok when everything lined up! The fit is amazing! It you have access to a floor jack, you can jack up one side with the stock jack and then u'll be able to get a floor jack under the other side. With both tires barely off the ground, it will make the job alot easier.
Oh, get the splash guards too!!!

Re: Front Lip Spoiler Question
I am such a dork when it comes to mechanical things.. from what i hear the install requires drillin'.. call me chickenSh$t but i'd rather pay a good bodyshop to handle the install...
Also i am having a molded install done. This is more involved than the customary install and basically the lip is molded into the bumper to make it appear as one piece. Much cleaner from what i have seen with molded body kits. Yes, it's a lil more $$ but after all i dropped 35k into a car, why not spend a few more to get it done right...
My car should be ready by Wednesday or Thursday next week. i'll be sure to snap pics and post'em.

Re: Front Lip Spoiler Question
I installed mine about a month ago. Got mine from
everythingg35.com
It wasn't hard to install, just time
consuming and needs many holes in the bumper.
You should consider doing the side marker to blink
mod while you have the fenderliner pulled back.
