Can't put stock 17 rims back on...can someone help identify the BLACK RING in pic
Hi guys,
I am throwing out my 18" rims. I wanted to put my stock 17" on today, but I was not able to get the rim to fit flush against the rotor.
These 18" rims were put on by a local wheel shop. In the attached pic, there is a black ring that is pointed to by the RED ARROW. I am not very experienced, and is hoping that someone can help to identify if that black RING is indeed the problem.
What is that black ring and what is it for? It is extending the diameter of the brown ring pointed to by the GREEN arrow, and I believe due to the diameter increase my stock 17" cannot fit flush against my rotor.
Please help me out. Thank you guys very much in advance!

that black ring is a hubcentri ring... many aftermarket rims have different bore sizes than our oem bore. the rings make up for the difference in bore sizes to insure that the rim is mounted correctly.
