Exclamation drive belt sqeaking

just replaced both belts and no noise after start up but the next morning its crazy loud squeal. my belts are tight and not loose.

any thought?

Mine only goes away if i step on the gas. I had to replace my intake and it stopped since.

Our belts are supposed to be set at a specific tension if not they'll make the noise you're describing. Pressing down on the belt it shouldn't move more than a 1/4" so you may not have them tight enough.

I had a similar noise and I just replaced the serpentine belt about two years ago...haven't heard anything since.

gary was right its too loose only 1/4 slack guys!

Mine wasn't that lose or too tight. At least you found out its lose. No more mouse squeaking for you

^^ here another solution

take off both tensioner pulleys and grease the bearing and shaft inside

should sold ur problem

I wish i could. I don't have the tools to do that since i moved here from Mass. I might need to as i heard the squeak again. How i will manage i'm not sure. Went away on its own though.

it will only do it upon 1st start up or when ur a/c compressor kicks on

It doesn't squeak upon start up. It only does that after warming up and its sitting or after driving. Some days it does it and some days it doesn't.

that sounds like my car... not sure what tho and its intermittent as well.

Make sure you loosen the sholder bolt before you use the jack screw. Also, Adding grease wouldnt hurt. My did the same thing once i changed it and then I tightned it to the spec mentioned above and it went away...
