Jay- wants to know what should mods should i get
hey guys!
I recently bought an 05' g35 coupe black on black i'm really loving the ride.
I am kind of having a hard time deciding what should i get first.
I was thinking of getting a K&N intake any suggestion please comment.
Thanks guys

definately don't get the intake unless your getting it purely for show because it will actually give you slightely less performance than your stock airbox
go with a Motordyne 5/16 spacer and if you have a manual get the MREV as well while your at it
you just lookin at performance mods or cosmetic as well?
+1,000,000 on that. Very first thing that came to mind when I saw the thread's title.
Ya gotta love how the members with very few posts have already formed an opinion on what this noobs first mod should be.
Guess what, they're wrong! The Z-Tube is a good idea but a better choice rather than a pop-charger would be a K&N drop in filter. You're increasing airflow to the plenum but without the heated air from the exposed pop-chargers filter and metal tubing. Nothing kills HP in our G35s more than HOT AIR!

Let's hear it for those that infrequently post

Anyway, the stock airbox is actually pretty efficient, although I swapped mine out for appearance reasons. If you're looking strictly for power, get yourself a z-tube, k&n filter and a motordyne plenum spacer and call it a day for the intake mods.
I would start out with a z-tube ($60 at stillen.com) k and n high flow drop in filter ($ 50 ) at any auto store, MotorDyne Spacer ( make sure to get the right one depending on your climate), and if you have money left over, start with some exhaust upgrades such as test pipes or high flow cats ( get resonated parts so you dont get raspyness),and a full catback exhaust system. The cats are probably the most restrictive part of the exhaust so I would probably start out with resonated test pipes or hfc's. Hope this helps!
