Like many 03-06 G35 drivers, ive had the misfortune of running into the Check Disk problem. Actually it used to work for a month or so then suddenly it beeps and the Check Disk display comes on and it starts running through the disks trying each one on its own.

One day i was driving and my CD was magicaly working...I had to make a stop and as i turned on the car again it said CD READING..then CHECK DISK...it was going for CD 2...as it was CD READING the second disk it really pissed me off and i slapped it with my hand on its right side a few times because i was pissed off...and it worked! At first i thought it was a coincidence but no...after a month it happened to me again...so i waited to the CD READING phase...i hit it a few times it worked...apparently it only works when its in the CD-READING phase.

My guess, as wierd as it sounds..i think the CHECK DISK error happens because the motor of the lense fails to position itself correctly over the disk...which kind of explains why when u get the check disk error and turn off the car the player starts grinding and the lense starts moving again...

Anyway...this solution worked with me, i know its very very very wierd but if ur about to change the whole damn thing u might as well try it...it might not work when it sais CD READING for disk 1...but keep trying till u reach to DISK 6...and if it doesnt work...try it the next day....

hahaha.. this happened to me too.. I lost my radion control functions actually as i was listening to the radio. Laid my pimp hand down and she got right back to work! Hasnt happened since.
