I have a few questions for the experts!
I am looking at possibly buying a 2004 g35 coupe or sport coupe, and have a few questions for everyone.
1)Reading reviews, I have seen a lot of people complaining about having to change the brakes yearly, and it costing a grand to replace them?! $1000 really? Why is this if it is true?
2)Obviously there is a lot of reviews that complain about road noise, rattles, etc. To me this is a given with a car like this, but what have you guys noticed?
3) Is there any known problems with this car/year that is well know about that I have not read about?
Any info you guys might have for me would be greatly appreciated! I am going to do some searching tonight when I get home, I only had enough time this morning to throw a quick post up, so I am sorry if this subject has been beat to death!
Thanks everyone!

I'll answer #1 for you, its because the 03-04 G Coupes come with Brembo brakes. Which cost a boat load more for rotor/pads then the normal brakes. You will be spending much on parts but not so much more on labor as brakes are brakes. You'll save a lot more if you can do the brakes yourself. There are Brake kits that are well below $1000, i got a Stage 2 Stoptech kit for $680 shipped (includes front/rear pads, rotors, lines and fluid).

1. Usually you can get rotors and pads for much cheaper than 1k. I upgraded to stoptech rotors and 06 OEM ceramic pads for under $600.
2. Most of the rattles show up cuz of the ways people use their cars. Large wheels, low profile tires and rough suspension all contribute to shaking up the car too early in it's life time and revealing a boat load of rattles. Subs in the trunks and upgraded stereos are also a big factor and contribute quite allot to the rattle issue.
My G only started revealing rattles at 100k and they are quite enough to be blocked out by a stereo at volume usually set to 10-15.
3. Read this thread https://g35driver.com/forums/g-spot/...-your-g35.html
There are quite allot of problems people talk about in that thread, even tho some of them aren't even a problems

I usually get about 16-18mpg. It's how you drive it and where you drive it. yes, if you want a car that makes you happy. Than make her happy with premium.

I recently went on a trip to Vegas and my average mpg was 24mpg, max was 26mpg.
if you do allot of city driving that will drop to about 18-20 mpg depends on your driving style.
Stock rotors lasted me 15k. Stoptech rotors been on for last 45k (I did turn them 3 times)

The '04s with MT had Brembos and yes they are expensive to replace. If you use aftermarket pads like HAWKS HPS or other quality pads they will last considerably longer...OE or factory pads are a joke! Buying brake parts from our MARKETPLACE is far less expensive than anywhere else....

I live in rural Iowa and the nearest gas station that has premium is at least 20 miles away. ****ty thing about it is i live a block from a gas station with no premium, 87 and 89 only. Its a convenience issue more than anything but will the 89 hurt the engine or just reduce performance?
Thanks for the info!
