Sounds like a bad actuator, or whatever controls the locking mechanism.

I'm certain thats what the problem is but I'm guessing here. Wait for others to chime in because I have never dealt with this problem before.

I purchased my 04.5 with a bad actuator and for now I've been content with locking and unlocking the driver door manually. It's just not that big of a deal to me. I rather dish $200+ on something else

Things I would rather spend $200+ on-
-5/16 spacer
-used test pipes
-used HR y-pipe

i don't know about u but none of those things don't really mean **** to me... lol i rather have a locking door than any of those things. its kinda ghetto when u have 2 do it manually?!? u drive an infiniti.

back 2 da topic. ya i had that happen to me b4. actually both of my doors when out one after the other. i was lucky my car was under warranty @ that time. they told me it was the actuator

Theres a write up on here about a 5 dollar actuator from a stereo shop and modifying it to fit in our doors instead of paying 200. Check it out.

There is a 5 dollar actuator and some jerry rigging needed to get it to work again. I'm content with my driver side not locking. It only sucks when i set my alarm off by opening my alarmed car. If someone wants something of mine go for it.

I got use to locking mine manually. At least it's the driver's side, so I don't have to walk to the other side.

My '05 just started doing this tonight (well at least that I have noticed anyways). Anybody got the link for the $30 mod? I haven't had much luck finding it yet.

Thanks
