New G35

New G35
I would first and foremost like to start off by saying hello to everyone on the forum.
Now on to the question...I am thinking about purchasing a used G35 and would like opinions on the best year and more importantly, things to look for in a G that would help me to recognize a good car from one that is a lemon or even worse, abused. I have already read the thread posted about the oil leaking into the sparkplug area of cylinder #6...any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

I just recently went from a 2005 G35X Sedan to a 2006 Coupe. I couldn't be happier. Personally I'd look for an 06. I like the projector headlights and they even changed the way the tail lights look on the 06 coupe as well. make sure to do a good test drive before you make any decisions and look over the car closely. Most future problems can be avoided by not rushing into a decision based on wanting the car so badly.

Give CPO cars some serious thought.. even though there's not many around anymore for G35 coupes.
G35 is old enough now that getting an '07 model is a no brainer. Might as well get the very last model year so there's no if's, and's or but's about recalls, fixes, tweaks, service bulletins, etc.
'06-07 models are generally the "same" on paper... but you never know Only nissan internal engineers would really know.

get an 06 if your worried about price. there are no significant changes that would make it worth buying the 07 just try to find one with good miles and an 06 and your set. also dont buy ones with any mods as that usually could indicate the fun of the engine is probably gone. happy hunting
