Alright, so in the morning and when i start my car after its been sitting a while, it seems like hte clutch or engine or whatever is quite loud until I push the clutch down. This only happens in neutral, cant hear it when your driving. This may be completely normal, but i havent driven a stick for a few years now and I just bought my baby about 4 days ago so Im paranoid at every little noise. Is this normal?

 

My clutch does the same thing (03 6mt). It's normal (or at least common) from everything I've read. Pretty noticeable when sitting at a drive-thru with a wall nearby.

Chances are what you're hearing is the "Throwout Bearing" they sing, chatter and make all kinds of strange noises. Once they get a little wear there's no shutting them up unless you have them replaced. In my many years of driving I've only had one fail and it froze up.

normal, mine chatters unless i drive it hard then its quiet...also first startup of the day when i am in 1st pullin away from my house theres a weird grinding noise that happens. Only happens once and its the first time i put the car in 1st and go after a night of sitting

 

ah im glad someone brought this up...happens to me too...the slight chattering while the clutch isnt engaged and the weird grinding noise as i let the clutch out for the first time of the day...makes me feel much better!
