I think they look cool. As long as your lights shine through, you will be fine. Post pics with your brakes on?

The paint is translucent and specifically designed for tinting lights. I did not go as dark of shade but mine illuminate with no issues.

I've been to several cruise in's with local police who have looked my car over and pulled over a few times but never challenged about tailights. I did get a $100.00 fine for my window tint @4%.

Hi

i just painted my tail light with VHT Nite Shades last week. after i done painting, i sprayed a few layers of clear coat. after everything is dired, the surface of my tail light looked not that smooth and ckear. Should i wet sand it ??? if so, how much grit of sand paper is suitable , or any reccomendations ??

i think 2000 grit is the lowest you should go i used 2500, and mine came out perfect, make sure to keep both the sandpaper and the lens pretty well lubricated and be careful not to go through the clear when you are doing it. after you are done wet sanding, polish it a few times and it should look great, good luck

Why everyone hating on smoke tails? I can't afford for cops to pull me over for b.s out here in cali, but it looks great. If it was 100% legal i would do it.

^ +1, smoked tails look great as long as they're profesionally painted. Why don't you do gtr style? Is 100% legal and it'll still go with your theme

Wow, five pages on painting/overlays on tails....he should have started with a poll before he when thru with it. No he made it his own, if that's what he thinks is cool....fine. I've seen painted tails (car color) that I thought were great but I'll probably go with the JDM tails or not....
