2006 G35 - Is It Worth It To Buy Extended Elite Warranty Plan
hi,
I have a 2006 G35 Coupe and don't know whether to purchase the extended warranty (Elite Warranty Plan)? I travel about 9,000miles/yr. I purchased my car in March 2008 w/9K miles on it. The orig. mfg. warranty is about to run out in Oct. of this year.
I don't know the ends and outs if this plan or if it worth it. Has anyone had an experience with this warranty. Don't know if you have certain things you have to do w/your car, and receipts/repairs. Do they give you the runaround when something goes wrong & say that it is not covered?
It cost around $2,300 for 4 yrs. & right now I have 27,600 miles on my car, so I would not fall into the mileage category, but if I go 9K mile a year, and if i took extended warranty in 4 yrs. after the end of the warranty I would have approx. 63K miles, which to me would be more like when you need warranty.
Any advice on extended warranty and if it is worth it would be greatly appreciated.

These cars are pretty solid, If you keep up with maintenance and keep changing the fluids at the correct intervals you should be ok. Remember there are both Mileage and time intervals which ever comes first. People are at 120k + with no major issues.
But if you want that piece of mind you can go for it. There is a list of what is covered, if something breaks thats not covered and you are out of the cars normal warranty period they probably will not fix it. Depends on the dealer really.
I personally have the CPO warranty from when I got my car and it only covers the powertrain and engine iirc.

Gee, I think I will just put that money each month in a savings, cuz they wanted $2,300 for another 4 yr. extended warranty ($575/yr.) and what's the odds of having something go wrong before 60,000 miles?
I had a Honda Prelude for 10 yrs. w/114 or so miles and at the end of 10 yrs. things were starting to go wrong & they put in a new transmission, don't know what it would have cost, cuz it was covered under the Honda warranty.
Great Advice, don't get it, done!

something going wrong before 60k is very slim if you keep up with maintenance. I am at 48k and other then the compression rods ( sedan issue) nothing is is majorly wrong other then the battery issue which you know about. and I expect my car to be trouble free for 100k+
I got the Nissan backed extended warranty when I bought my 04 used with 44K miles on it. Wanted 3 more years. It was around $1,200 I think.
Since then, they have replaced the driver's seat motor and AC Compressor, so mine has paid for itself. Think I got the Quality Guard Plus.
Get a quote from your local Nissan dealer....should be cheaper.
Nissan does all of my extended warranty work.
