'04 G-Coupe Drivers Seat Fire

Has anyone had problems with their drivers seat sticking (no longer moving forwards or backwards)? Mine was stuck...sometimes it moved when first getting in the car. A valet moved my seat up (after I asked them not to), but it did stick. Upon entering the car i saw smoke billowing out from under the seat and through the power switch area. The foam and seat was in fact on fire (according to the dealership upon inspection). The Nissan Dealership (took there b/c it was the closest) wants $1700 for the seat-track/gear/switch assembly and another 2,200 to replace the leather seat.
I contacted Infinit Consumer Affairs to ask them to take care of this since I deem it a safety issue related to a defect (since I have seen other posts on seats sticking). - They blew me off!!! I filed a complaint with the NHTSA and may be sending a letter to the LA Times. Next is hiring an attorney.
IF ANYONE HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE - PLEASE RESPOND!!! Thanks.

Post some photos. That would help your case. I have an 06. No problems yet. Many have had their rails crack and the seat will start to rock back and forth. That would be a safety issue..

I did not take photos since the fire was under the seat and all there was, was fire extinguisher chemicals all over the interior. (I am going to have the dealer take phots... or go donw there and do it myself)

If it is truly common...was there ever a TSB or recall? (I could not find one)
I am going after Inifiniti on this... it could have really been tragic had I been driving.

There is no TSB or recall. More people need to file a complaint.. But most don't..

I've never had a problem with my seats in my '03. But I guess I'm lucky? I've heard of failing door lock actuators, window regulators, gas tank issues, but never have I heard of seat motors failing or catching on fire..
