Today I was driving my car and there was a knocking noise from the driver side part of the engine. The noise became much louder at 2000 rpm and higher. It sounds like a terrible knocking/rattling noise. I am changing my oil on Tuesday at the dealer and it is currently 50 miles overdue. It also idles smoothly with no knock, no check engine lights, and I checked the amount of oil and it was full. My car is currently under an aftermarket warranty through US Fidelis. My current modes are Stillen Intake with Z tube, Berk HFC, and 5/16 Motordyne ISO spacer.
Will these parts void my warrranty?
Does this sound like the oil consumption problem common to G35s?
My car has 45,000 miles and is an 05 6mt coupe

 

Might as well replace the engine with a 4.0L stroker VQ...

 

Dude, had same problem, got my oil changed and noise went away. Pretty sure it sounded like my rods were sticking. Good luck

 

i got the same problem, but its only knocking when i was idle, after oil changed everything fine now

 

does this knocking have anything to do w/ pinging when accelerating?
