Need helps on this deal

Hi. I am planning to get 04 G35 Coupe 6MT sometime this month. A dealership quoted me with the following options. Just want to double check with you all if I am getting The Deal.

04 G35 Coupe 6MT
Premium Package
Navigation Package
4-Piece Aerodynamic Body Kit
Trunk Mat

MSRP: $38,870
Quote from dealer: $36000 (before tax)

The guy called me tonight and said they can still work on the number if I am interested at this model. How much further I should push? Thanks!

Its sounds like a good deal. But...push them until they fall over.

Re: Need helps on this deal

I just purchased the same model with almost the same MSRP. They knocked it down to $36300. We worked out financing at 10k down, 450 a month, all before tax/tags/title. I went back the next day and told them I couldn't purchase the car unless they got me out the door with the same financing deals after tax/tags/title. Keep pushing, they break

- clears - re-badged - 20% tint all the way around
... much more coming soon

Re: Need helps on this deal

Thanks. Do you think I can push to $35000? I know this is closed to invoice. By the way, I went to another dealer last week and saw at least 8 Coupe 6MT sitting on the lot. Look like dealers have some hard time to sale 6MT these days???

You gotta let the salesman get some sort of profit off the car! 36k for the car you want is a great price. It's a possibility that you can get more off as the 2005's will be rolling in soon. I would be happy with 36k though..

Re: Need helps on this deal

Surely you paid what you paid, but since the person here is trying to get the deal, I dont think you would think about the salesman..it makes no sense, cuz not for one second will they ever think about u, I would say dont push, just state 35000, but settle for around 250(there i am making him some profit)+invoice, cuz the invoice seems to be 35294, else U walk, cuz there are many many dealers out there with 6MT...if you dont get it from this dealer, fetch for a dealer in the 150 mile radius..its not like if u miss this deal you will not get another..have the heart to walk out of the deal if it doesnt favour you, dont get soft on them.

my $0.02
Cheers

By the way, I just call them up to find out whether it is a demo car or not. They told me it is a brand new car.

Re: Need helps on this deal

The same salesman just called me again and wants to discuss the number further. Sound likes he is eager to get rid of the car for some reasons??? He can't give me the number on the phone. He wants to setup an appointment to meet him and his boss tomorrow.

Another question: If I wait for 05 Couple, I know I will pay the MSRP for sure. Will they add the mark up price as well? How much more will add? Did the dealers mark up the price for 04 when it came out? Thanks!

Re: Need helps on this deal

Squll, how do you know you will pay MSRP for the '05s? You won't know unless you try!

Crazi: Actually my salesman did care about me.. as they wouldn't let me leave until I fully inspected the car, showed me to the service manager, and introduced me to the master tech. Heck.. he still remembers my name after a month. I'm sorry you didn't get the treatment that you should've gotten... better luck next time =)

Re: Need helps on this deal

yea.. they always try to get you in with their sales manager at the same time and they play good cop/bad cop. everytime you pretend you are going to walk out the door they will try and come back with a better deal. make sure you are the one coming back. when you think the deal is squeezed for all it is worht walk out the dealership door then come back in and say you have "changed your mind". that is usually the time that you know you have gotten the best deal. also don't let the finance manager play around with numbers and sell you a bunch of BS services and such. they are notorioius for that.

Re: Need helps on this deal

To jhummer: Did you get the 6MT or Auto? Sounds like it's better deal. What's options you have? Can you refer me your contact? Thanks!

Re: Need helps on this deal

I went for the auto because of the amount of driving I do. I drove both and found the auto just easier to deal with. BTW I did go to other dealers and was told that a couple of hundred bucks off of MSRP was the best I could get because the '05s were coming. The dealer I settled with did the deal because I pursued them and told them that I wanted the car for X price. I called them 5 times a day for a week, they never called me.

Re: Need helps on this deal

my 2 cents..

my friend bought his 03 coupe, 6mt, premium package, 3 piece aero, navi, at the beginning of the 03 year...he got his for 37,800 OTD, (tax included)...i am from socal, went down to tustin dealer and told them that. i told him if he can beat that, i'll take the car. i quoted him 36000 for my 04, with the same options, OTD. sales dude told me if i can bring in my friends contact, he'll honor my quote. what do u guys think about it?? 36k OTD for a 04, 6mt, premium pktg, 4 piece aero, and navi...

let me know!!
