Okay, so i found the shop thats gonna do my wheels. Now i need a color. Was originally gonna go with black since im in a ob coupe, but now im thinkin i might wanna go with a gunmetal or maybe a bronze. What do you guys think looks best on the ob's

by the way - $30 per wheel unless major work needs to be done, sandblasting etc. Brings it to $50 a wheel... Still a great deal if you ask me!

Go with a deep bronze! If you go black it'll just be too much black. IMHO bronze looks phenomenal on a OB G. Sounds like a really good deal on the PCing also...

All gunmetal isn't my favorite either because it makes the wheels just look dirty sometimes... Now if you have oem 19's and get the lip polished and the centers PCed gunmetal that would be a different story...

I thought so too, Im def gonna do it. Im thinking Bronze. Im up for other ideas though, just nothing nutty like lime green.

Did you happen to ask the shop what temperature they will be baking your wheels at and for how long? Are these the Ray's wheels?

Yes you should. The Ray's wheels are a special alloy of 6061-T6 Aluminum and if the are heated above 325F it will cause the aluminum to anneal and overage. This makes the wheel brittle and prone to cracking.

You want them to bake it at about 275F with a low temp. powder. If they say they can drop the oven to 325F and it will be fine, it will not. Hot spots will form in the thin areas of the wheel which will exceed the maximum.

I had my wheels done at 275F and have no issues. If you ask them all this and they look confused, find another shop. It is worth it to spend a little more to avoid an exploding wheel.
