My wife doesn't understand why we'd take a perfectly good car and start changing parts. Example: What was wrong with the wheels your car came with? She has her Vette and 4 closets full of clothes/shoes so she does her thing and I do mine....that works for us.

I bought my wife who I'd say takes place of a GF the $20k G, spent $1k on her audio system, bought my $18k G, spent $3k on the audio system. She got $1000 spent on winter tires and coupe rims to be summer tires, I'll get a $1000 set of summer tires when I get back.... The money spent on detailing supplies is used on both... Pretty even I'd say.

Maybe I should put a supercharger in mine just to be "on top" - To quote a great band (Cowboy Mouth):
"I might love you, yeah... but I love me more."

When I married her, my wife had me trade in the 240SX for a Chevy Lumina. To her the car was just transport. Sixteen years later, she still thinks it's just transport but she has a big house, a minivan, pretty much anything else she wants...and I've got my G and a mod(est) budget for aftermarket parts. She doesn't get it, but humors me.

Of course, before dime one goes into the G the bills are paid, we save & invest, and plan for big purchases and vacation. No way I could have afforded it when we got married. Don't know how the young kids in their 20s do it.

^Totally agree.

I sold my G about 6 months ago because I got married and now have a home to worry about and can't afford that luxury. I will return to my hobby/passion as soon as I can but bills and other priorities come first, and then if I have money to play with I will get a car. Same goes for her with shopping.

Not young kid in his 20's anymore (In 20's jut barely) but I was once, and it's easy when you have two incomes and no kids

What he said... Haven't made the first mortgage payment yet so don't know how much we will have left to play with. But whatever it is it will go towards furniture and house stuff... don't know when I will be getting another car

My girlfriend gets mad cuz I spend more money on her than my car, she even made a FB group about it. Although she is buying my front bumper. I told her she is third on my priority list. It's internet, car, her. So after those things are taken care of, she doesn't see a dime! Hahaha

Just gonna comment on the 20s thing.. I got my 06 G coupe in feb, I just turned 22 a few weeks ago, and sure it's expensive as hell after putting almost 10k into it before even paying it off (stupid move as that's all i owe haha) BUT Getting to the point, what was wage like when you were 20? I'm in Canada and min wage is just under 10$ an hour, and not many places you'll work at 20 will pay that low.. It's a lot easier to afford **** now a days than it was 5, 10, 15 years ago.. Just over the past 5 years it went from 6.25 min wage to 9.75. No complaints there on making my life easier to manage :P but THAT, is how 20 something year olds can afford nicer vehicles now a days, it's nowhere near what it was "back in the day"

This is a very subjective topic. At the end which one means more to you? People will definitely say punnanay is more important than pshhhh pshhhh pshhhh, but to many others the thrill of on tracks is far more orgasmic than fapping a same ol punnanay all day. I am never a relationship oriented guy. I like to bounce around a little more. To me there's never a definite equilibrium in between women and cars. I charish and spoil my girl whenever I FEEL like it, much the same as about my car. I won't buy her a diamond ring JUST because I bought myself a nice set of wheels and I have to "make it up" to her. It doesn't work that way. Like a famous quote from G Sedan (my favorite quote actually), "Real men set importance not on the value of their riches, but on the richness of their values". I can very much spend 5 bucks buying her a single rose and she will appreciate it like no one has ever done that before, yet I can get her to scream my name all day with an eye blinding diamond necklace. They all do the job, which one is more precious?

I am so happy that my G is done with mods. I love it so much I told my wife last night, "I am keeping this car till it has 300,000 miles!". Glad I only put on 9000 miles a year. She agrees the G35 makes our marrage better! Especially now that she has one also!

whenever i have money i always suggest spending it on my car before my girlfriend, like many others she considers my g35 to be her rival
