G-35 - 1 Deer - 0 *pix*

Well It happened. Crested a hill on the way to work and tagged a deer. Luckily it didn't do much damage. Need a new bumper, grille, marker light, Injen filter, wheel, front alignment, and HID unit. All came to just over $2500. Thank god for zero deductible. Sucks though cause the marker lights are on back order so I have to use the stock amber ones *gag*. One less deer in NW Indiana :-(

Not to laugh, but it reminds me of the scene from GoodFellas where Joe Pesci needs to borrow the knife from his mothers house. She comes down and is like...what r u doing with that? He's like, we hit a deer and need to cut his foot....hoof from the grill....
Anyway, that sux, but as long as you're aight and the G lives on, no worries!

LOL yeah ! Could have been worse, but because I slowed to miss its friend I didnt hit this one that fast. Wheel only had a small small scratch and they replaced the whole thing. Just the wheel was $850!!!!!

I was expecting more damage...
Many years ago a firend hit a moose (lot bigger then a deer) and the car was totaled...

When the bumper moved it broke the two tabs off the bottom light fixture. So, its just hanging by the one top bolt.

Just be glad that it was a deer and not a cow...

Good luck fixing your car... Hey, more of an excuse to get aftermarket grill, bumper, etc...

Re: G-35 - 1 Deer - 0 *pix*

I feel your pain.

2 weeks ago, I had a medium-sized 'critter' running directly toward me in the road and hit my car. It must have been rabid to be running AT me. I couldn't get out of the way, and THUD, my bumper was smacked up. I couldn't find the animal, so I don't know if it was dead or not. It was night, and I didn't want to have a run-in with a rabid opossum, armadillo or raccoon.

I got the estimate back, and it luckily was only damage to the front bumper cover. So, 506$ should take care of things unless they find out more was damaged. This was also 0$ Deductible Comprehensive from State Farm.

I still feel rotten about the animal, though .

Re: G-35 - 1 Deer - 0 *pix*

I have a couple more pics right where I hit it. I'll post a couple more tomorrow. First time hitting a deer for me. Wasn't fun..sort of scarry really. I almost bought the Greddy front bumper, but glad I didn't now. That would have really sucked!
