automatic lights on/off issue

Yesterday I got 20% tints all around my car except for the front windshield. As soon as I brought it home I noticed my automatic lights werent turning off after 45 seconds. The two events are too coincidental to be mutually exclusive in my opinion.

Note: The guy who did the tint had to take out the screw for the function for when the window moves back up an inch when you close the door. Could this be why its not turning off normally?

windows have no relation to the auto lights feature. Sensor on top of front dash is what controls it. if something it blocking it, it won't work properly

Why would they even need to mess with the window roll up feature in the first place? When I tinted my windows all I had to remove was the door panel a bit on the top.

Some tinters do that so that it doesn't damage the tint while it cures. When I had my windows done though, the tinters used their heat guns to dry out the lower 1 inch or so that way it wouldn't move/shift during the first 24 hours or so.

If by chance that screw affects the door sensor, your automatic lights could stay on. If I recall correctly, the auto lights will stay on for 5 or 10 minutes while the door is open. If that screw that was removed makes the car think the door is open, this could be the reason.

See ordinarily I would agree with you but now I learned something about the car:

without the screw in place for the window adjust feature, the automatic lights DO NOT turn off. My battery was drained and I had to jump the car in the morning.

However, last night after 48 hrs with the tints on, I put the screw back in and the auto light feature began to work properly again. Interesting. In some ways these cars are very sophisticated lol.

I used to have a problem with them, only one headlight would turn on sometimes. I eventually just got really frustrated and stopped using auto lights.
