I've been reviewing HFC's the past hour or so now.. For what im looking for, the Berk HFC's look like a good choice. Like I said.. I wanted to go Borla Headers w/stock exhaust.. But since then, found out Install takes anywhere from 8-12Hrs.. No way am i paying $1500-2000 just for headers.. All im looking for is a slightly deeper growl and a slight bump in HP. Im pretty sure these Berk HFC's will address those needs.. Thanks for all the input everyone.

Black G, when you had your spacer installed did they remove the negative side of the battery like Motordyne suggests? If not you can do that or try a ECU reset so it can make adjustments to the better flow in the plenum. If you've done research you are aware that most of the restriction in our exhaust system is in the OE converters. Headers are a waste of time and $$ for our cars unless you've also included a Vortech. Our aftermarket exhaust systems don't sound rice (what ever that term means) like a fart-cannon on a Honda. Actually they don't sound much different than OE until you put your foot on the firewall then it gets nasty. Try the reset and get some Berks that should make you and your G happy....G/L

Gary C... So u saying 5/16 and high flow cats will give the stock exhaust a much deeper growl.. (for example on on a a american v8 muscle car)? i like that rumble sound

We just installed a Motordyne Iso and Stillen HFC's on a customers car over the weekend. It was an automatic 05 coupe. Baseline dyno run with no mods besides a K&N filter replacement was 239hp / 220tq. After cats and spacer 258hp / 230tq.
Not bad considering it's an automatic and the torque comes in 500 rpm sooner.

classy rumble
If you want the v8 rumble then get a v8. Not trying to sound like a dick but 6 cylinders in general will never have the same rumble as a v8.

Very impressive gains for those mods!

stock exhaust sounds the best, imo, sounds more exotic. when installin an aftermarket exhaust, you get a "tuner/import" type of sound. so if getting the stock sound, a bit louder is just a matter of puttin in HFC or test pipes (which are better, i.y.o., emissions don't matter to me) unfortunatly, the stock exhaust is not true dual.. if you can make the G setup true dual, and keep the stock sound.. then that would be sweet. does the 350z y pipe make a difference in sound? i heard its a good perfomance adder, for not bein true dual. and is it just me, or is one of my pipes sticking out further then the other? and if so, help me fix it!@!!! =/

Stock exhaust is nice, but too quiet for my taste. I think HFC's plus stock sound the best. My dilemma is that it would be so much cheaper to just do test pipes. It's kind of a hard decision. I don't need to pass emissions so why pay so much for HFC's?

Just subscribing to the thread and would like to know if it would be a good idea to add Fast Intentions HFC and 350z Exhaust Y Pipe (would this 350z exhaust Y pipe do anything?) on my 04 G Coupe!? And I'm also not a big fan of that LOUD exhaust, it's just very annoying because I don't like the in cabin noise as is (louder exhaust will make it worse) and most importantly I don't want my parents to know what time I come home at nights lol! But I'm interested in a deeper growl of the stock sound, I love it so much that when its nice out, I listen to the exhaust rather then music.
